Voters Still Get to Vote in Ohio

This just in on the newswires.

NYT: “WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday overturned a lower court’s order requiring state officials in Ohio to supply information that would have made it easier to challenge prospective voters. The decision was a setback for Ohio Republicans, who had sued to force the Ohio secretary of state, a Democrat, to provide information about database mismatches to county officials.

While McCain and Palin harp on ACORN, Republicans in swing-states are scurrying at the eleventh hour to disqualify as many voters as possible from the general election. They are attempting to exclude as many new voter registrations as possible and demand that names on voter registration cards match perfectly to name databases. These databases, however, have many misspellings of names. How election officials respond in these states — which include Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, — will have a huge bearing on the outcome of the election.
