Women Should NOT Talk About Our Girl, Sarah Palin

Okay, a little rhubarb on the Internet (yum!). A couple of people have argued that women — and in particular Sandra Bernhard and Margaret Cho — need to be more feminine and less strident in their remarks about our girl, Sarah Palin. In other words, Sandra and Margaret stop being such sluts.

People: Wake up and smell the freshly baked bread. Those two have made a career out of shock. What do you want Margaret to do — go back to being a Sunday school teacher? (She was one, really.) Should Sandra move back to Flint, Michigan and get a real job? Because she can’t: They don’t have jobs there any more.

So let’s think through this statement. It’s like what my mother taught me: If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it. I generally agree with this:  We are lots of people and people disagree. So let’s try to get along.

Sort of like how Sarah Palin  avoids how her church disapproves so much of gay people that they hold conferences to “pray away the gay”. And Sarah REALLY doesn’t want to talk about her witch hunting pastor, Thomas Muthee. That was be, like, anti-Christian?

And, really, if you take it to the logical conclusion (hang on, ladies, we’re talking reason and this will make your hair curl!) we should all believe in happy thoughts and not worry about problems. Or argue. Because there’s nothing that we can do when we are powerless, isolated individuals without pulpits from which to speak.

That is, except to blog. 🙂

I find Sarah Palin to be just plain human, and that’s refreshing. That’s the plain & tall of it.
